Our providers will listen to your every complaint or cause of pain going back to when it started until now. They will ask the appropriate questions, review your imaging results with you, and come up with a treatment plan on how to get to the root cause of your pain. Whether it’s surgery or medication, the plan has to be right for you.

Todd Jaffe, MD
Dr. Jaffe is a third generation physician, born and raised in Miami Florida, with a Bachelors of Science is from the University of Miami at the ripe at age 19, and a Doctor of Medicine degree from UHS/The Chicago Medical School at age 22. After graduating, Dr Jaffe attended North Carolina, Bowman Gray School of Medicine/North Carolina Baptist Hospital for his residency and fellowship in Anesthesiology, sub specializing in Cardiac and Nouri Anesthesia and Pain Management. At age 26, he became the youngest ever Head of Cardiac Anesthesia at Medical University of South Carolina, in Charleston SC.
Dr Jaffe has accomplished a number of things in his career; helping to found the Ophthalmic Anesthesia Society, the Society for Ambulatory Anesthesia, and being involved in the early stages of the North American Neuromodulation Society, involved in spinal cord stimulation and implanted infusion pumps. Like his father before him, he is involved in addiction treatment work having obtained Fellow Status from the American Society of Addiction Medicine and being involved in the evaluation and treatment of impaired professionals.
Dr Jaffe enjoys his spare time, being a very mediocre piano player, but a very passable singer, with classical voice training. He enjoys the opera and surprised his wife with an engagement proposal twenty years ago at the opera. They enjoy traveling and have renewed their vows on all seven continents. He is an avid golfer and chef, enjoys the outdoors with his two dogs and is very much looking forward exploring the White Mountains.
Imran Farooqi, MD
Dr. Farooqi is a born and raised Ohioan, growing up in the city of Cleveland. He attended Emory University in Atlanta, GA for undergraduate college earning a degree in Financial Economics and Pre-Medicine making the Deans List multiple times. After completing his undergrad, Dr Farooqi relocated Morgantown, WV where he earned his Doctorate of Medicine at West Virginia University School of Medicine. There he remained to complete his Transitional Year Internship where he did a year in Diagnostic Radiology gaining imaging expertise and realizing his passion for Interventional procedures and pain medicine. It was then he decided to attend Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA where he completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation where he served as a Chief Resident. He stayed at EVMS to complete the ACGME accredited Interventional Pain Management fellowship.
He has a passion for learning and participating in medical research in search of the latest advancements in the field of Medicine in hopes to gain more knowledge for the betterment of patient care. Dr Farooqi has multiple publications, abstracts, and posters including: the Journal of Microbiology, Journal of Neuroinfectious Diseases, Neuroscience, American Heart Association/American Stroke Association International Stroke Conference and Symposium, International Neurological disorders and Stroke, Nature Communications, and most recently Pain Week. Medicine is something he feels he was born to do, as he comes from a family of retired and practicing physicians.
Joel Braun, MD
Dr. Braun, M.D. is a board-certified physician who specializes in interventional pain management, a medical subspecialty which treats pain with minimally invasive interventions such as epidural steroid injections, nerve blocks, spinal cord stimulation and more. He received a double major undergraduate degree in biology and chemistry from Ashland University and earned a master’s degree in biology from the University of Akron. After graduating, he attended medical school at Ohio State University College of Medicine and graduated in 2003. Post Medical School training includes an internship at the Medical College of Virginia School of Medicine and residency training at Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University.
Outside of work, Dr Braun is a biking enthusiast who enjoys the great outdoors and spending time with loved ones.
David Wilcoxson, MD
Originally from Colorado, Dr. Wilcoxson, a Board Certified Cardiologist by the American Board of Internal Medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, brings more than 30 years of expertise treating patients in Arizona with a wide variety of internal medicine and specifically cardiovascular disorders. He holds an MD from the University of Colorado School of Medicine and is affiliated with a multitude of Phoenix-area hospitals. After Med School, he completed his residency in Cardiology at the University of Arizona Medical Center in Tucson and his post graduate training at the Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix.
Dr. Wilcoxson’s past experience includes running an Interventional Cardiology clinic in Mesa, AZ, and numerous employment positions with private cardiology companies locally. He also served as Vice Chief of Staff and Chief of Staff for Banner Baywood Heart Hospital in Mesa, AZ for a total of four years. He is a lifelong learner with a passion for the art of resolving the unique venous disorders for each of his patients. As he puts it, each patient’s need is his opportunity to take them from suffering or discomfort, to being their most healthy—feeling the best they can be.
Dr. W is passionate about his family, his significant garden (including ghost peppers!), and the family’s five dogs. He is also an avid outdoorsman who enjoys the uniqueness of the Sonoran Desert and mountains, whether hiking, mountain biking, or snow skiing. Each year the Doctor successfully skis downhill at speed that exceeds his age.
Lysa Busalacchi, DNP
Dr. Lysa Busalacchi is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with an accomplished background, holding a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Bradley University. Before joining Virtuous Pain Centers, she enriched her expertise at the Core Institute in Interventional Spine and Pain Management and has broad experience in various healthcare sectors including Emergency Field Medicine, Med-Surg, and Case Management. Her distinguished career is highlighted by her role as Assistant Director of Nursing in Home Health and significant contributions in emergency and pre-hospital medicine.
Beyond her professional qualifications, Dr. Busalacchi is a proud Veteran of the Armed Forces, serving over 14 years in the United States Air Force as a Medical Technician. She helped provide unparalleled care overseas to our wounded warriors while deployed, and when home, used her experiences in the Middle East to teach tactical medicine courses to military and civilian first responders.
Her passion extends outside the clinic walls and she enjoys traveling, outdoor activities, and quality time with loved ones. Dr. Busalacchi’s unique blend of military experience, diverse healthcare expertise, and personal warmth ensures patients receive exceptional, holistic care.
Trevor Patience, P.A. was born and raised in Mesa, Arizona and graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor's of Science in Exercise Science and Health Promotion. Trevor was involved with competitive swimming in high school and in college, after graduating from college he continued his involvement outside of the pool as a high school swim coach until he found his calling to Medicine.
Trevor attended Texas Tech University with a Masters in Physician Assistant Studies where graduated with honors and was placed in the national PA honor society. He has been a Physicians Associate since 2016 where he started his career as a family practice PA. It was soon after he decided he wanted to help patients with debilitating injuries as most of his passion is in medicine is diagnosing and treating chronic diseases.
In his free time, Trevor enjoys spending time with his wife and three boys. He loves skateboarding, snowboarding and surfing with his kids.
Wei-Jen (Cindy) Sheu, NP
Cindy is a dedicated healthcare professional with 15 years of experience as an acute care nurse practitioner in the cardiovascular specialty, with great expertise in treating peripheral vascular disease and venous insufficiency. Her mindset on disease management is supported with an emphasis in wellness education, health promotion, and disease prevention. She is exceptional at patient care, and teamwork with a strong understanding of the nurse practitioner scope, a clear ability to act independently while knowing when to seek attending physician support.

Outside of work, Cindy is a yoga enthusiast and devoted animal lover.
